Since Noah’s birthday falls just after Halloween, I’ve had plenty of room to get creative with party themes over the years. I love Halloween—it’s my favorite time of year, and we always have a lot of fun. One year we threw an extra special Halloween kids party, and here are my top tips for creating something your kids will remember for years.
It was wonderful to see Noah and his friends and family all in costume. Halloween and dressing up are just so much fun. Websites like costumes.com make it easy to find outfits, with good delivery options too. We dress up every year, so our collection of accessories keeps growing. Do you reuse costumes and accessories? Vinted also has great costumes—we got ours there last year.
I enjoy baking and decorating cakes. This Halloween Skippy cupcake recipe is perfect for Halloween-themed treats; you can fill them with jam for a tasty surprise. For Noah’s party I baked a simple Victoria sponge, filled it with jam and vanilla cream, and used an easy ghost design for decoration. Ready-rolled white icing and pre-made black icing make it simple. I liked how quick and effective the design looked.
It really worked well for our party. The kids loved it, and the UV lights made their costumes glow. It was so fun. Noah was amazed when the foam effect appeared. The DJ played lively Halloween songs, and the kids danced the night away. We hired a local DJ.
I stocked up on Halloween sweets, easy to find at bargain stores, and bought plain orange tubs, black pipe cleaners, and cellophane bags from Amazon. I made the labels with Canva, printed them on label paper, and ordered some spooky Halloween spiders from Amazon too. They all came together nicely.
We rented a school hall for the party and invited about 40 to 50 children, with parents joining in costume as well. It was a fantastic night and my favorite party to organise so far. Do you have any top tips for throwing an amazing Halloween kids party?
