You might have seen my recent Master Bedroom reveal — it still needed a few finishing touches, which we’ve now added. The room looks so different from when we moved in a year ago.
I added a mirrored dressing table from Beautify, which has really brightened the space. Because it reflects light from the hallway and the window, the whole room feels lighter. I can also see the dogs moving around the bed; Snoopy is blind, so it’s handy to spot if he bumps into anything. The dressing table has a large drawer, so everything can be tucked away neatly.
I picked up several pieces from Linens Limited that give the bed a hotel-like feel. I started with decorative cushions to set the color palette: a dark grey quilted velvet cushion, a puzzle-pattern cushion with shades from pink to grey, and a small pink pom-pom cushion. For bedding I chose a blush pink geometric set — the pink and gold tones complement the greys in the room and add a fresh touch. I finished the bed with a dark grey diamond throw that ties the greys and pinks together.
At the foot of the bed I added a fluffy grey rug to fill a large gap in the wooden floor. It’s soft underfoot, adds warmth, and helps muffle the dogs’ tip-tapping around the room at night. It’s amazing how much difference a rug makes.
I continued the pom-pom theme with sturdy baskets from Beautify. They’re great for storage and match the room’s colours — I use one for journals and books by the bed, one for hair accessories, and one to hold a new plant we named Boris. They’re so useful I want them for every room.
To keep the dressing table drawer tidy I use luggage organisers from Beautify. Although meant for travel, they’re ideal for home too — perfect for makeup, headbands, and tights. They’re soft, a lovely grey, and have rose gold zips.
The whole makeover cost less than £200 and really transformed the bedroom. I’d love to hear what finishing touches you add to make your bedroom feel extra comfy and cosy.
