Five Essential Tips for Spotless White Bedding
I absolutely love my new crisp white bedding, but keeping it pristine is a constant worry — I’m the kind of person who could easily turn it pink by accident. Because I want that fresh, hotel-style feeling every night, I put together a simple checklist to help keep white bedding looking its best.

I tried these tips on a Portofino Waffle Bedding set from DUSK. They also ran a “big clean” survey with plenty of extra ideas, but here are the five I find most useful.

1. Rotate and wash regularly
The longer bedding stays on the bed, the more dirt and marks it can pick up. Rotating sheets and washing them every one to two weeks keeps them looking newer for longer. I often change mine right before bed so I get the most scent from the laundry.

2. Wash whites by themselves
Always wash white bedding alone to eliminate any risk of colours running and dulling the fabric.

3. Use a whitening boost
I use Dr. Beckmann GloWhite Intensive Whitening sachets — add one to the drum with your whites. It works on many fabrics, helps stop greying, and keeps whites bright.

4. Treat stains quickly and use cool water
Tackle small stains as soon as you see them with cool water or a fabric-safe cleaner. Avoid hot water, which can set stains; cooler water is safer for removing marks.

5. Shake out and air-dry to reduce ironing
After washing, give your bedding a good shake and hang it outside to dry if you can. The shaking relaxes creases so you usually don’t need to iron. If you don’t have a line, draping sheets over garden furniture works well. Ironing can sometimes change the look of fabric, so skipping it helps preserve colour.

Have you got any other tips for keeping white bedding fresh? Do you use a linen spray or similar for extra scent? I’d love to know what works for you.
