Lockdown gave us so many special family moments that I wanted something to hold them. When Lily Blanche asked if I’d like to review their lockets I couldn’t say no. The necklaces are gorgeous — delicate charms that open to keep little memories inside. I really treasure mine.
The past six months have been hard on families. Not being able to see grandparents has been heartbreaking; the children missed them so much. I had a locket made for myself to remember this summer, and another for the kids’ Nanny so she can keep their photos close when we can’t visit.
We were sent the Seahorse locket in rose. I love rose gold, and the mix with silver matches my bracelet and rings perfectly. There are three chain lengths; mine is 24 inches and sits around the breastbone, so it shows nicely with my clothes. The locket fits two photos (or you can choose none), and the company inserts the pictures for you — the quality is excellent.
Lily Blanche was founded by Gillian Crawford, inspired by her grandmother Lily Blanche Sheridan and by a love of archaeology. The memory-keeper lockets are such a lovely idea and make thoughtful gifts.
Each necklace arrived in a pretty box and gift bag, with a small jewellery pouch to keep the locket safe. You can also buy matching pieces like bangles and earrings, which makes it easy to put together a themed gift.
The lockets retail for £110 on the Lily Blanche website, with an extra £15 charge for the longest chain. With the holidays approaching and visiting still limited for many families, these make a lovely way to keep special memories close.
Do you have a locket? I’d love to hear what you think.
