We were lucky to work with Vertbaudet to add a story corner to Isla’s bedroom — a small update to the makeover we finished last April. Isla loves reading; she reads to her soft toys and even reads Daddy a bedtime story. A cosy reading nook felt like a natural addition.
The focal piece is a large floor futon with tassels. It’s soft and roomy, with a starry pattern and a green shade that complements the pinks and greys in Isla’s room. At £33.50 it felt like a great find.
I picked a small coat rack because Isla likes her dressing gowns and her monkey toys. The hooks have cute designs and it gives those items a proper home. It was on sale for £10.50, which was a lovely price.
The hexagonal shelves come as a set of three in different sizes and colours, ideal for displaying keepsakes. They match the room well and are easy to hang — one nail at the top and adhesive stickers at the bottom. The set is £31.00.
To finish the corner, we added a brass mirror with three coloured pom-poms on the lower right; the colours tied the space together and completed the look.
When Isla walked in she was amazed and proud to see her monkeys on display. It was wonderful to watch her face light up.
