The Christmas Trail at Wimpole Estate returns for a third year, running from Friday 24 November to Sunday 31 December. Sony Music’s illuminated trail brings after-dark festive fun for all the family, with brand-new installations for 2023 — including a clue that hints at something in the sky. Last year my children and I loved the music, lights and the surprise visit from Father Christmas.
Opening times are from 4.30pm, with last entry at 8pm (7pm on 24, 26, 30 and 31 December). The trail is closed on 27–29 November and 4, 5 and 25 December. Tickets start at Adult £19, Child £14.50, Family £64 (2 adults & 2 children). Carers and infants aged two and under enter free. Parking is £8 per car; National Trust members park free if booked before the day of the visit.
Wimpole Estate is at Arrington, Royston SG8 0BW (what3words: having.flaunting.reheat).
Sony Music has been creating illuminated Christmas trails for more than eight years, designing each event to showcase the location’s natural features. There are around 30 trails in the My Christmas Trails and Lightscape programmes across the UK, Europe, the USA and Australia.
Last year there were food and drink stalls along the route and a few fairground rides by the entrance — the children enjoyed the hot food and it made for a very special evening.
